Taxis, Trains & Planes

Here we go again !! Alison took me to the station on Thursday morning (7 am). Met my old friend Graham on the platform " going home then" he said, ha ha !! Journey went quickly with someone to chat to.

Got a taxi from St Pancras to Paddington, as I was getting in the car I twisted my ankle, ouch ! and after a 12 hour flight was quite sore and swollen, what a start. OK now though.

Got into HK at 7 am, didn't sleep on the flight at all, the evening flight is better cos you do feel like a sleep. I had heard from Carlsson that a typhoon was expected, but it was only wet and a bit windy. As it was raining I went straight to the station and got the train to Dongguan, arrived in Chang ping at midday, Dennis was waiting. Checked in at hotel (19 th floor again) and then went for lunch at a favourite of Dennis, Hong Kong restaurant in Qiaotou (I like it too).

After lunch went into work but all the HK people had left, got a call later from Carlsson to say that the wind in HK was now force 9, seems I got out just in time !

It's Saturday morning, I slept 11 hours last night.

Weather (for anonymous) wet and hot.

Got to find something to do for the weekend ???? Hope you all enjoy the bank holiday, back soon if there is something to report.

Song for the day : Big yellow taxi, Joni Mitchell (it wasn't yellow it was silver and the ones in HK are red)

You could have gone and watched the olympics for the weekend I would have been well jealous

Sounds like you got out of Hong Kong in time I wouldn't have fancied those winds

  2. Hi Neil

Hope you are now feeling refreshed after your 11 hour sleep! Glad you missed the awful weather in Hong Kong. Are the Chinese still high on the Olympics? Good closing ceremony, they certainly know how to entertain. Went to see Mama Mia on Monday, absolutely fabulous, really enjoyed it. Didn't do much else, was nice to relax and have an extra lie in. Back to a gloomy dull morning and month end!
Take care and look forward to reading your next bulletin and of course your song for the day! (still humming all the Abba songs in my head to-day!)

  3. I had a pretty boring weekend.

It's annoying when I have to stop reading to do some house work. It was quite warm sat in the conservatory listening to cd's.

Brian got a new mobile phone yesterday, so that kept him quiet for hours, trying to get it up and running.

There wasn't much on T.V. There's a surprise for a bank holiday. But I enjoyned the extra day off. Could do with a 4 day week every week!

Back to normal today, month end and cloudy outside, but a bit humid, or so everyone tells us when they come in the office.
